From earliest times, Arthurs Pass village has been a popular stop with tourist from stagecoach times until the railway line was completed in the 1920s. It is popular with tourists, buses and trucks as a lunch of refreshment stop but they hadn't seen anything like 90 classic trucks lines up in their village before. Parking was a premium.
