R Series Mark I
Produced from 1948 to 1951. Distinguishing features:
• small Commer badge • only one rear window in cab • side lights in guards
• wipers at bottom of windscreen • non–pressurized screw–on radiator cap
• flat, open bottom step (dangerous when wet!)
R Series Mark II
Produced from 1952 to 1954. Distinguishing features:
• small Commer badge • 3 rear windows • side lights in alloy steps
• wipers top of windscreen • pressurised radiator cap
• modified bottom step
