1919 Leyland CE6065

1919 Leyland CE6065

Entered by the Historic Commercial Vehicle Club. This 4-ton Leyland R.A.F. type box van was delivered to Chivers, the jam and jelly people, and was used until 1934 for delivery work in London. After that it went on to general carrying work at the factory in Huntingdon and was subsequently fitted with a large water tank and became a standy vehicle with Chivers' private fire brigade on the factory premises during World War II. After the war it was used for static water storage on the firm's farm until it was completely renovated to its present condition in their Histon works in 1959. It was presented to the H.C.V.C. in 1962.
