Mike Przyrembel writes ... That is the one converted by Derek Parnaby and sold at his auction in the late '80s. I never understood the logic behind the conversion as the 14-litre Cummins was a standard offering by Scammell and fitted without the snout; it was later sold on to Allelys and re-built with a flat front. Although the SOMA rear axles appear heavy duty they were only rated at 12T each making it unsuitable for STGO3 work where 16T per axle is the norm.
