1954 Dennis F8 FHL650
Bought new by the Wakefield City Fire Brigade. It remained as their main Fire Engine until 1972. After its service the fire engine was sold and left outside for seven years until it was purchased by the late David Baxter of Beverley. It was later passed by bequest to its present owner, Denis Williams, who has painstakingly restored it over a 15 year period to its present condition. It is fully equipped with period equipment and is fully operational. This vehicle has a 4.2 litre Rolls-Royce straight six petrol engine. The water pump is a Dennis No 2 500gpm. Seen at Hull’s Streetlife Museum on 20/3/13. (Doug Spencer) #1
