First attack fire fighting vehicle specifically designed for the Anderston Centre in central Glasgow where the water jet could be directed into a fire located on upper floors. The folding booms allowed the monitor (which incorporated a Fognozl fire fighting branch, patent window piercer and Infrastat Heat Detector) to be easily manoeuvred into areas that were physically impossible to reach with a normal line of hose.


There was a dedicated fire station built within the Anderston Centre and fourteen appliances were allocated there:

6 Dodge K850 chassis: GGA154L/155L, GGE394L-396L, GYS175L-176L (Mk IIA)

Their operational life was short and most were out of service within eight or nine years. Some saw second service with non FB owners or were converted for other uses, but only two are known to have survived the scrapman’s torch. (Ken Reid)
