1955 Rutland Eagle EEB844

A glance inside the Rutland Eagle's cab.

Note the initials M.T.N. on the instrument binnacle. I'm not absolutely sure what the letters stand for. The short lived company was founded and owned by Frank Manton whose father hailed from Rutland, hence the use of "Rutland" as a brand name. The company itself was called Motor Traction Ltd of New Addington near Croydon, but was sometimes referred to also as Manton Motors. So M.T.N. may have been derived from Motor TractioN or ManToN.
